For I have learned to look on nature, not as in the hour of thoughtless youth, but hearing oftentimes the still, sad music of humanity.

PHOTOGRAPHER, designer, illustrator & musician...

...Eric Luther McClendon has erratically explored the arts since a young boy growing up in rural Alabama. Having a classical training in piano at the age of 5, music became a primary source of expression. It wasn't until much later that a light switch flickered on and Eric realized there was something very special about his connection with music. Traversing through different genres and learning a variety of instruments, he felt that the solace he had in music and sound needed to be guarded and implemented through other artistic mediums. This is what brought him to where he is today.

Eric acquired his BFA in photography & graphic design at Jacksonville State University in Alabama. Instantaneously, he began work as a Partner/ Art Director for the local start-up company Native Marketing & Strategy, Inc. (now known as Native Rewards), helping his hometown community with knowledgeable design & visual media. Since then he has relocated to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue opportunities involving music and art — but also focusing on fashion and fine art boudoir as personal subject matter.

Accomplished in a range of mediums and techniques, Eric intertwines his work with hints of musical influences that seek to explore ideas much bigger than ourself.  He has been published most recently in Photographer's Forum as a finalist for Best of Photography and received IPA Honorable Mention in 2015. His work has been exhibited at the Gadsden Museum of Art and member exhibitions at the Society for Photographic Education Conferences (SPE). He has also participated in RAW Artists showcase in 2016, presenting his work at the City Winery in downtown Nashville.
